Happy Birthday Dad/Papa/Father

An Inspiration
A Man who still remember how he taught me to walk
A Man who still have my first word's recorded with him
A Man who still have his children first drawing with him
A Man who smile when we smile
A Man who is so innocent that his innocence kills his life
A Man who have thought more about others than himself
A Man who have big dreams but live with a simple life
A Man who teaches everything to everyone
A Man who is friend for all and enemy for cruel
A Man who is strongest as pillar
A Man who have 3 children and one beautiful lady :)
That's My Dad and Today is his birthday
Many Many Happy Returns Of the Day
To Man of our life
A stem of our tree which make us stronger day after day
Happy Birthday Papa
We wish you full success and happiness in life
We Respect you a lot and you are my inspiration

27th April, the day when a man was born who in real don't know his actual birth date :) Well Well Well that's my father Mr Rajender Kumar Mehendiratta. We all kids have a story with our dad and we all want to do something special for our parents but we are so involved in our life that we hardly get time to express our feelings. We don't even wish them at times not even thinking how much that mean to them.

On this day I not just wanna wish my Dad a Many Many Happy Returns Of The Day, I also want to tell him that I love you a lot nevertheless if I have hurt you still you are the most important man of my life.

Happy Birthday Papa!!! Hope you have great years full of happiness always

Harvesting Festival

"Sunder mundriye ho!
Tera kaun vicaharaa ho!
Dullah bhatti walla ho!

Dullhe di dhee vyayae ho!
Ser shakkar payee ho!
Kudi da laal pathaka ho!
Kudi da saalu paatta ho!
Salu kaun samete!
Chache choori kutti!
zamidara lutti!
Zamindaar sudhaye!
bade bhole aaye!
Ek bhola reh gaya!
Sipahee far ke lai gaya!
Sipahee ne mari eet!
Sanoo de de lohri te teri jeeve jodi!(Cry or howl!)

Bhaanvey ro te bhaanvey pit!"

song source "Wikipedia"
(Translation of it is give below for those who don't understand Punjabi)

"Ooh after reading these lines people who understand Punjabi would easily noticed that about what i would be talking about. As a true punjaban how can i forgot to write about our new year our first festival "LOHRI" or we say "LOHDI".No matter how you write but pronounce it in the same way and the main motto is to express the feeling and greeting for the festival."

As from English Calender 1st Jan is the new year day which now a days in India also had become a popular festival day and people had celebrated in full fledged but traditionally in India, which is the country of cultures and different religions, every religion have there own new year.Once upon a time when the maximum population of India was farmers and hard workers people celebrate their new year on their harvest season.People in south India celebrate it as pongal and onam, in east its bihu and nabanna, Sankranti or makar sankranti in all over the region and for people of punjab its Lohri and baisakhi(vaisakhi) or we can say sankrant. As a punjabi but living in maharshtra i don't know much about other harvesting festival but can describe lohri and makar sankranti to you.these are the festival of new beginnings, prosperity and abundance.

Lohri is celebrated on 13 Jan or mostly after next day of puaranmashi (purnima) all over the world(especially in India and more over in North India).Lohri is considered as the last of winter and beginning of magha (when sun changes its course).Lohri is basically a thanks giving festival. It is celebrated cause people should thank god the creator for whatever he had given and farmers do so to thank for the new fasal(crops) and pray them to get best results all over the year.

I wont go deep into the history of the festival as truly i also don't know much and am afraid if would give you wrong information. But one thing i surely want to mention which my parents use to tell me that in older days on lohdi in traditional Punjab and other areas children go door to door singing the traditional song i have mentioned and asking people for lohri. And people according to there love and pocket give them sweets, popcorn, revadi(crystal sugar), Mungfali(peanuts),til (sesame seeds) or gur as well as money.Returning them empty handed is thought as inauspicious. This collection is said as lohri which is shared at night during bonfire tradition. The festival now a days have been pretty much changed now a days none go to someones door or asking lohri instead people buy these traditional things and then Born fire is done at night where these popcorn,Peanuts etc are offered to fire(Agni devta).

Lohri had a great significance in newly weds and new born baby life.As it is the festival of Thanksgiving and praying for good and prosperous year and crop so newly weds and new born are been asked to specially blessed by god that their years become prosperous. As it is the festival of Punjab or punjabis how can you forgot dhol and bhangra and dance.Yes this festival is also not left behind it is celebrated with full joy and music the dhol is been played near fire and people dance around the fire when the bornfire is been lamp at night. Lohdi play a vital role to show the people the way of life it basically celebrates "fertility" and "spark of life".

I wish all my readers Happy Lohri and Happy Makar sankranti may the festival brings hapiness and prosperity to you and people around you :-)

I know i have been late again this time as lohdi has been gone but wishes are never late its always "late than never" and many people must have wished you on that day but special ones have holed their wishersto wish you always happiness in life as the festival says so.So be "happy and Keep Smiling always".

Well as i have told you earlier that i live in Maharashtra here Makar sankrati is been celebrated but i hardly know about that i just know that the most famous sentence been said to addressing is "til gud khaoo godd godd bolo" means eat sweet speak sweet i think people who would be reading about it may be they know more than me so request them to do post information about it so that you share something with me which i don't know and one more thing is very famous on makar sankranti that's kite flying.

These festivals are spreading wishes and happiness all around you so you all also do so..
Keep smiling always :-)

(Translation of the above song)

“The 'ho's are in chorus
Sunder mundriye ho(Sunder and munder are the name of girls here)
Who will think about you
He is dulla bhatti( a dacoit like robinhood who use to loot the riches and help the poor)
Dulla's daughter got
married (Dulla bhatti help them married with their grooms by considering them his daughters) He gave 1 kg sugar!
The girl is wearing a red suit!
But her shawl is torn!
Who will stitch her shawl?!
The uncle made choori!
The landlords looted it!
Landlords are beaten up then!
Lots of innocent guys came to save
One innocent boy got left behind

The police arrested him!
The policeman hit him with a brick! Cry or howl!
Give us lohri ..long live your couple!
Whether you cry, or bang your head later!

Birthday Greetings

I know it has been late posting my new post, but it took time cause I was just busy with thinking a topic for this blog...

The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate
by Oprah Winfrey

As new year had begin and there were so many greetings been received on occasion of new year, for your new year to be more prosperous and happy and now everyone is busy with their life and work as holidays are finished and busy life is been started in full fledged. I thought why not I should ask everyone to take some time from your busy scheduled and start thinking on my topic. While everyone is busy in their life and forgot (few smart ones don't) one and the most important occasion of greeting in life of our loved ones, which almost starts from the first day of the year till the end of this year and comes every year still many of the us really been forgotten either due to our over loaded life with work or some sort of tension. So I thought why not insist you to stop thinking of your work and tension and try to remember this important day which comes in all of us lives and also in our loved ones lives, a day when our loved one just wait for a phone call or a greeting of you, a day which everyone commonly known as ,

We wish you a happy birthday

We wish you a Happy Birthday
Whether we are near or far away miles
We are happy to come together
With all our great big smiles

We are bringing many wishes
Especially wrapped up for you
Wanting you to have very happy times
In the celebrations we do for you

For this party belongs to you
On this your own special day
May all your biggest wishes come true
For you in a very special way

From 1st Jan to 31 Dec of every year the birthday's are been celebrated. It could be anyone you, your friends, your mom, your dad, your siblings, your family members, your neighbors, your dog or your neighbors dog, it could be anyone, anyone around you. And everyone would be just waiting for your wishes either by a sms or by phone call or a greeting card or anything but they would be just waiting two words “happy birthday” from you but, you just forgot to wish that person due to any reason just imagine how that person would feel. So today I am writing on this topic just to remind you that year had just been started and birthdays have just start so don’t forgot to wish your loved ones. Now just take some time from your busy schedule and make a reminder or note down all your loved ones birthday and in start of every month just go through it and recall all the birthdays of that particular month. And call all the love ones whom birthday either you have forgotten this year or last year and while apologizing them wish them belated as well as in advance “happy birthday” if any case you forgot this year also see the smile and relieved the person would be having to just listen those words from you.

Birthday is the day when you and everyone just want to feel special. This is a day when everyone wants to be Amitabh Bachan or now a day’s I can say Barack Obama and just want to be feel good that day who cares what happened but one thing that we cares is that this day should be a remembrance for the life time. So without wasting times just start wishing your loved ones and start grabbing new ideas for their special day

Birthday Blessings

Instead of counting candles,
Or tallying the years,
Contemplate your blessings,
As your birthday nears.
Consider special people
Who love you, and who care,
And others who’ve enriched your life
Just by being there.
Think about the memories
Passing years can never mar,
Experiences great and small
That have made you who you are.
Another year is a happy gift,
So cut your cake, and say,
"Instead of counting birthdays,
I count blessings every day!"

By Joanna Fuchs

So I want to wish all of you Many Many happy returns of the day for those who have their birthday today and for others I want to request you to come here on your birthday and wish yourself from my side and all of your love ones side who may be due to any reason forgot your birthday don’t be dishearten or depressed just enjoy the day as it comes once in a year and is been specially made for u.

I hope that for every candle on your cake you get a wonderful surprise
Wishing you another wonderful year of happiness and joy.
Happy Birthday!

Wednesday, December 31, 2008

And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year: Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown. And he replied: Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God. That shall be to you better than light, and safer than a known way.

2008 what a year to left behind. So much have happened in 2008 which would soon be in history after few years...

When the clock strikes twelve on December 31st, people all over the world cheer and start exchanging New Year Wishes with their dear ones. With personal greetings along with a warm hug to the ones who are with us, while SMS ,e-mails,and new year cards are been send to the dear ones who are staying in different countries and cities. For some, this event is no more than a change of a calendar. For others, the New Year symbolizes the beginning of a better tomorrow. So, if you look forward to a good year ahead, spread happiness with wonderful New Year wishes.

Happy New Year!" That greeting will be said and heard for at least the first couple of weeks as a new year gets under way. But the day celebrated as New Year's Day would be same as every year 31 dec come and change the chapter of one year to another one this year 2008 would be completed and its place would be taken by 2009.

As Edith Love joy Pierce had said "We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called "Opportunity" and its first chapter is New Year's Day. "
So never let the opportunity go away from you ...As another year comes quickly to a close and we come face to face with the things we didn't get done last year and the new promises to do them and others this year-maybe it's time to change our strategy.

New Year is a time of celebration, beginning of all the new work and activities where as leaving all the worst deeds in the past. I truly hope you are looking forward to the holidays and the New Year, and I want to take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you the best of times.I know there must be lot happened in the past year which forces us not to celebrate or be happy in this year but let's not forget that we really do have something to celebrate. We are still here. That's something to be thankful for. We still have people that care about us. And we all have the capacity to make things better. Isn't this freedom to create a better world for ourselves and our loved ones?

Let's get happy and celebrate the spirit of the New Year. Let’s do something that will give us a better future. Let's become part of the solution instead of part of the problem
New Year is a time to ring out the Old and ring in the New with fun, party and celebration among our friends and families. It is that time of year again when we find ourselves saying things like "pata hi nahi chala yeh saal kahan chala gaya?" or maybe even "I will do this and that this year". Well, whatever it is you are saying, I suggest you to dig a little deeper and reflect a little more; to consciously complete this year.

Resolutions are taken to improve the faults and mistake done in the past year and not to continue in upcoming year. But frankly speaking i don't believe in resolutions cause mistakes are the first things which symbolize as person as human and we are made to make mistakes but yes i think a person should knew that his mistake should not become a curse or someone else."Resolutions are made to break"

New Year is a best time to wish your friends and families for their success and prosperity in upcoming year. For this purpose greetings and well wishing cards are used as an effective means to wish each other.

Traditionally, it was thought that what they did on the first day or first few minutes of the year affect the luck they would have throughout the coming year . For that simple reason or escuse, it has become common for folks to celebrate the first few minutes of a brand new year in the company of family and friends. Parties often last into the middle of the night after the ringing in of a new year. It was once believed that the first visitor on New Year's Day would bring either good luck or bad luck the rest of the year. So, best wishes for your friends and families in the beginning of the year may bring lots of luck and prosperity for them.

Don’t sit back and wait for the best wishes to arrive instead step forward and send best wishes to your nearest and dearest ones. You can find lots of New Year wishes ,sms and greetings on web.

A New Year’s Prayer
May God make your year a happy one!
Not by shielding you from all sorrows and pain,
But by strengthening you to bear it, as it comes;
Not by making your path easy,
But by making you sturdy to travel any path;
Not by taking hardships from you,
But by taking fear from your heart;
Not by granting you unbroken sunshine,
But by keeping your face bright, even in the shadows;
Not by making your life always pleasant,
But by showing you when people and their causes need you most,
and by making you anxious to be there to help.
God’s love, peace, hope and joy to you for the year ahead.
